Some years ago, I was working a full-time job I absolutely hated. It was summer vacation. Every morning, I left before the kids got up. Every evening, I came home with a splitting headache, in too much pain to do anything but go to bed.

One day on my lunch break, I broke down crying on the phone with a friend. I was missing so much time with my boys, and it broke me.

Hi, I'm Malika — and it still breaks my heart when I see other moms in the same position. It's not fair. We'll never get that time back.
